YEAR BY YEAR
2020
THE YEAR I DECIDED TO GO FOR IT
I decided in January of 2020 to create a new business in the music industry called Elevate Music Business. (though it wasn’t called this for another just yet).
It was where I wanted to educate musicians as to how they needed to be prominent on social, how they could earn money with their music and build their own lucrative business with their music and their brand.
Then covid hit!
2021
THE YEAR THAT I STRUGGLED
So after setting up a music business at the very time the rug was being pulled out form under the music industry wasn’t the best timing.
Even though I didn’t have many (or any) paying clients because musicians didn’t really understand what I did. My previous clients hired me for PR campaigns but with no more life gigs there were no more campaigns to hire for.
I decided to build my social media presence and build my online credibility buy doing several Instagram lives, posts, Facebook lives, YoutTube etc. This did build a bit of credibility and a following and allowed me to give sound advice to musicians that were struggling.
We were all in the same boat.
2022
A YEAR OF UNSURETY AND A MOVE
Early 2022 with no end in sight for covid and with my housemate moving back to Canada from Dublin, I decided why go through the motions of getting a new housemate and continuing to pay rent when I have my own home in Cork where I can save on rent.
So I moved back to my own apartment in Cork City where I was glad to finally get around to that paint refresh and spring clean it much needed. I continued to work on building my profile for Elevate Music Business but with musicians having no income, it wasn’t looking very fruitful…
2023
A YEAR FOR CHANGE
Feeling fed up with having to constantly have to show up on social media to market myself to musicians who were not willing to part with their pennies, I decided in November 2022 that I needed a change for 2023.
I have always loved property but the 2 year study you need to complete to get your licence in Ireland put me off but I decided 2 years would fly why not give it a crack!
So come January 2023 I enrolled in college as an Aprentese Auctioneer and began seeking employment. In order to complete the apprenticeship you need to work 4 days in the office and 1 day in college.
I landed a role in the best agency not only in the country but globally and where all our stock is high-end (right up my street).
From trying to figure out my life from my couch in November to landing my dream job in February, I am now on my way to becoming a fully licenced Estate Agent.
Although I have my dream job I still have a shit ton of creative and business ideas I intend to execute and share them here. Follow me on my journey x
